Who is Liz Beattie?
Liz Beattie is the Member of Parliament for the State Electorate of Yuroke and part of the Brumby Labor Government.
What does Liz do?
As the local representative, Liz helps residents, schools, businesses and other groups with Victorian Government matters and works hard to improve the local area. She meets with residents and organisations; works with other ministers and government departments; attends local events and visits local schools and businesses.
Which political party does Liz belong to?
Liz is a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP).
When was Liz elected?
Liz entered State Parliament as Member for Tullamarine at the 1999 election. She represented the constituents of Tullamarine until 2002, when an electoral redistribution created a slight relocation in the electorate, now named Yuroke.
She was re-elected to State Parliament in November 2002 as the Member for Yuroke.
When do I enrol to vote?
If you’re an Australian citizen aged 18 years or over and you’ve lived at your current address for at least a month, then you need to enrol to vote. You can also apply for enrolment if you’re 17 years old and will be automatically enrolled when you turn 18. Download an Electoral Enrolment Form.
What does the State Government do?
There are three levels of government: Federal, State and Local.
